January 4, 2011, CLPOA Board Meeting

January 4, 2011

The Cove Landing Property-owner’s Association Board Meeting was held today at the Brangus Feedlot (owned by one of Cove Landing’s residents, Mr. Matt Brady). The Board opened the meeting at 11:30 and concluded business by 12:20 PM.

Present today:

Jane Witherell, President

Lori Bodinger, Treasurer

Nancy Curtis

Tim Henderson

Gerald Riley

Ernie Enchelmayer, Secretary

– discussion about which board members are going “off” in January 2011. Tim Henderson has expressed a desire to let someone else have a turn on the board and he will rotate off at the next Homeowners Association meeting. Ernie Enchelmayer and Jane Witherell have also expressed an interest in rotating off the board as well. If you would like to serve a turn on the board, please do not hesitate to nominate yourself or let someone who is currently on the board know of your desire to contribute to our community. If you know of a neighbor you think would be a good board member, please speak to them about serving on the board and nominate them at the January meeting.

– discussion about meeting location for annual January meeting. The church on Bradley Cove Road has a new pastor and he has not returned any of Jane’s numerous phone calls/messages about using their facility. Other potential places: Victory Baptist Church (if Gregg can get us booked) or The Journey (if we can make a contact) or??? Any suggestions would be helpful.

– new dogs in the neighborhood. Cove Landing has seen a “spike” in the number of dogs running loose. This may be due to abandoned Christmas gifts or it may be due to owners just not being considerate enough to walk their dogs on a leash and/or keep them in a fenced in area. The board is considering humane ways of removing the dogs.

– the current balance in the Cove Landing POA coffers is: $5,466.71. Yes, this amount is low, but it is due (at least) to the following: (1) additional lights mean increase in electric bill; (2) increasing cost of lawn upkeep in general areas; (3) work done to repair the sprinkler system at the front; (4) installation of cameras at Walleye and Bradley Cove Rd; (5) we still have (a few) lot owners who have not paid their 2010 dues. On this note, please pay your yearly dues. They are due anytime between now and 30 March 2011. After this date, they are late and late fees will be in effect.
